So as you know if you follow my blog, I am happily out of the photography business, because it was robbing me of  my enjoyment of photography.  What I do enjoy, is photographing friends, and their adorable kids.  

Lia has become a dear friend to me, she is kind, giving, loving, and a person who you can count on.  I'm blessed to have her as a friend.  I adore ADORE her boys.

Heart breaker !!!!

I swear, this laugh comes right from his toes.  This is ranking up there as one of my all time favorite photos that I`ve ever taken.

And when I do families, I always insist on a few couples pictures.  Because after all, it`s good to have a visual reminder of your relationship aside from children.  I adore these couples ones, I think Lia looks so beautiful.

Sometimes you catch a moment .  One of my all time favorite images.

With night photography, as opposed to regular daytime photography, I think it's a complete success when you come out with even just one or two images that you like.

This is my standing in pitch black, middle of nowhere, hoping there isn't a snake where we stepped, or a cougar scoping us out, or a coyote nearby photo that I'm happy with.  

Had a lovely opportunity to head out after dark this week with a fellow photog friend and capture some night action in Kamloops.  If you can call it action.  haha.

Nature's Beauty

I've been a photography rut lately- since closing my business and being able to just photograph for me, I've sort of missed a step with my continued learning.  Or I've slacked and haven't found much inspiration.  Today, during a rare nap in my bed, I captured some images that I think are magically beautiful ones that in years to come I will look back at lovingly.

I was in a bit of a photography funk lately.  I've been working with a talented mentor who really knows her stuff.  It's a fabulous learning experience that I recommend to all photographers, but you must be prepared for the truth- not the truth you think you know, but the real truth.  My mentor is fabulous at sharing where I can improve.  This session was an opportunity to try to improve on previous similar sessions.

So this is the learning experience #1- these images.

The learning experience #2 will be probable re-edits/reworking of these images after I speak to the fabulous Ms. Mentor about them.  :)  I'm looking forward to her feedback.  There may be a follow up blog post !

And, this photography funk,

I'm hoping after this session, it will turn around.  I'm sort of smitten lately with photographing women.  I pitched the idea of the "sock bun" look to Kendra.  The big bun- a la -Carrie Bradshaw.  She convinced me to shoot her hair down first, and reluctantly put it up after the hair down pictures.

Well, she ROCKED this look.  

She looks ahhh-mazing !

So it's those pictures that are up first, followed by the others.
